Anne of Cleves Photoshoot ...
Anne of Cleves House, Southover Lewes, East Sussex on a cold wet day.
We loved the historic venue, it’s small and intimate with unusual nooks, crannies and hosts weddings for guests up to 50 people. There were lots of areas for potentially great photos.
Robin from " I Do Weddings",our photographer on the day, took over 800 images to get some fabulous results.
Emily from Bella May Bridal in Hurstpierpoint kindly sourced models, hair stylist Tammy and make -up by Gemma J Smith and the models appeared on a very cold morning. We were wowed by how amazing they both looked. The museum was open for business at the time so we had a lot of visitors wandering in and out, wanting to chat about the shoot, it created a lovely backdrop and atmosphere.
A lady who was getting married at the venue enquired about the beautiful flowers that Chirpee Flowers had produced for the day.
Steph Willoughby Master Florist had created bouquets using Piano red roses, Pink peppercorn berries, tinted eucalyptus, and helenium.
Feeling that the historic building had low light levels for photos, the warmer tones of reds and pinks went amazingly well with the dark beams.
A hanging decoration was added above the ceremony table, which was also strewn with flowers.
A historic nod to the informal practice which took place during the Middle Ages and Tudor times.
Strewing wildflowers and often Rosemary (used for Remembrance) was a popular way of decorating floors and tables for weddings, which usually had a fragrant or astringent smell.
We were hoping for photos in the lovely garden of Anne of Cleves, with our White Orchid archway, sadly the rain set in…the models were getting very chilly (very brave girls) they really didn't want the dresses getting wet.
The archway shown above is available for hiring out for your Big Day in Sussex, www.chirpee.net
It is filled full of faux orchids, roses, and hanging wisteria. You can see it looks incredible for photos at weddings and special events.
Here are a few of the professional photos from Robin. You can see this lovely photo shoot in Your Sussex Wedding Magazine issue this month.
A fairytale ending to this behind the scenes story. Little did one of the models realise that when her boyfriend saw her photos in the wedding dress and beautiful flowers that he would end up proposing… Congratulations!
