Updated: Aug 11, 2019

(9 Real-life themes for your wedding day)

Overwhelmed with too much choice? Pushed the Pinterest Overload Button too many times?

Chirpee flowers have put together some beautiful and classic choices for your wedding florals, with examples from some of our Real life Weddings, that won’t date overnight or break the bank (well, one might...) to make deciding your style easy and simple.

We often ask our couples - do you have a style for your wedding, and if its in the early stages of your planning, often the answer is no...

When questioned, we find out likes and dislikes and their personalities shine through and a natural style for your wedding emerges, whether it be quirky or sophisticated.

Choose your favourite theme and then run with the style throughout your wedding and use seasonal blooms. Carry the chosen look to your invites, stationery, outfits and wedding décor for a complete cohesive feel. It makes planning your wedding so much simpler.

1. English Country Garden.

Ideal for Spring and Summer weddings, marquees, barns and rustic venues.

Choose from all the bounty that a typical English country garden would hold.

Foxgloves, Delphiniums, Dahlias, Stocks, Thalaspi, Pinks, Sweet Williams and Lupins.

Use garden props such as watering cans, terracotta pots and old wheelbarrows to decorate your wedding venue.

The couple that chooses a Country garden style is looking for informal, free-flowing elements, the style is super- relaxed and has a love of nature.

Choose a style that uses lots of architectural blooms, strong forms and shapes for foliage and touches of bold colour.

Flower choices could include Alliums (Onion flowers) Exotic florals such as Ginger and Heliconia, Orchids, Liatris, Eremurus and Cornus branches.

Designs will have structures and definite shapes. Inclusion of industrial items such as copper lanterns, frameworks and metal will often feature. Lighting is very important, with couples often choosing hanging designs to create statement pieces.

The couple that chooses Urban Chic is busy, sophisticated, grown up and very cool.

Flower crowns, simple tied posies for your Bridesmaids with lots of trailing ribbons and a decorated Rustic Birch pole archway to get wed under would be your perfect choice.

Include lots of dreamcatchers, sahring platters of yummy foods, old rugs, music, comfy cushions and relaxed seating areas.

Boho weddings are unconventional, artistic and free-spirited and have a genuine love of freedom and the natural world.
