Spring Weddings
Celebrate the return to life from the cold months of winter and take your cue from nature. Zingy greens, new buds bursting with life and lots of zesty fresh lemon.
If you are saying “I do” in Spring you will have a great choice of flowers.
Trend: Mixed pastels from Pale blue Hyacinths, White Narcissi, Baby pink Tulips, and Lemon Ranunculus
Budget tip – Use Catkins and Pussy Willow in tall vases to tie in the countryside with this season.
Flower of the season: Peony. The “Queen of Wedding flowers,” the Peony shines in Spring, they are coveted wedding blooms available from March onwards. Blousy, romantic and whimsical, perfect for Boho or Vintage themed weddings. The flower means “happy marriage” what could be more appropriate.
Lily of the Valley: This little scented beauty has such a short season, use it if you are planning to be married in Late March to May. (UK Season) It's delicate to use and needs very gentle handling.
The fragrance is stunning and used as a base for so many classic perfumes. A favourite of Royal weddings, use on its own, massed in a tightly packed posy.
Top tip – Using peonies for a wedding? They have a 5-day rule: 5 days in bud, 5 days in bloom. Ensure your florist is aware of “ripeness grading”, a professional chart showing when flowers are at their best to use.
Summer Weddings
Some the most sought-after flowers are at their best now, lucky you if you have chosen Summer to tie the knot.
Flower of the Season: Dahlia
Flower Trend: Dahlias have made a huge comeback in recent years and are one of the most requested bridal flowers.
We are seeing a burst of colour next year, Brides are choosing bright colour explosions to celebrate their Summer wedding. Hydrangeas, Astilbe, Stocks, Nigella (Love in the Mist), Scented Garden roses are strong favourites.
Budget tip: If you want the best seasonal and most cost-effective flowers, choose gorgeous British locally grown materials.
Décor Trend: Wearing floral crowns is set to continue with Brides wanting lots of flowers for their hair.
Bring Summer inside your ceremony room with colourful fresh flower arches and stunning flower chandeliers.
Top tip: Go Tropical for a flamboyant statement, choose Magenta Ginger flowers, Heliconia and sultry red Gloriosa lilies, bold beautiful and very different.
Autumn weddings
For fashion-led brides you may want to overlook the obvious colour palette of oranges and yellows. For a richer, desirable look, choose opulent reds, dusky pink, dove grey with splashes of rich deep purple.
Flower of the Season: Large Bloom Chrysanthemum
Top tip: Celebrate the Autumn equinox by using lots of tealights, glittery candles and lanterns to create an atmospheric feel.
Budget tip:
Use an abundance of trailing Hops, tied bunches of Wheat, Oats, Dried Lavender, feathers even, and bunched hessian ribbons for a lavish harvest look.
Team your table décor with a profusion of rosy red apples and black grapes.

Winter Weddings
It’s a magical time of year, but not wanting the Christmas cliché? It’s increasingly more popular to wed in this chilly season. Reflect this, by using glitzy frosty colours. Ice blue, sparkling silver and snowy Winter whites.
Glamorous, cool and classy.
Flower of the Season: Orchid.
Trend flowers: White Moth orchids, Ivory Avalanche roses, Silver brunnia and lots of grey eucalyptus and olive foliage.
Trend décor: Mix flowers with crystals, sparkly sprinkles for the tables, and mirror plates to reflect light.
Top tip: If you are getting married near to Christmas, do not be shocked by a price rise in flowers. This is due to flowers being flown in from hotter climates and is perfectly normal. Budget for this when planning your flowers.
Budget tip:
Choose seasonal foliage’s, cheaper flowers e.g. gypsophila, berries, tinted white branches and Reindeer moss to create your own Winter wonderland.
